Scott Wins World Cup Silver

Beckie Scott captured silver in the Pragelato World Cup sprint, finishing only .2 seconds behind Marit Bjoergen of Norway, the overall World Cup sprint leader. After the qualifying round Beckie was in 6th, Sara Renner, 21st and Milaine Theriault 39th.

Beckie won the quarter final, .6 seconds ahead of Finland's sprint star Pirjo Manninen and also won in the semi's, beating Bjoergen by 1.3 seconds. It was a close final with Bjoergen claiming gold, .2 seconds ahead of Beckie and Finland's Elina Hietamaeki-Pienimaeki finishing with bronze.

On the mens side the top Canadian male was Drew Goldsack, in 35th out of 78 skiers, Devon Kershaw was 44th, george Grey 47th and Chris Jeffries 60th. The US had an excellent day as their sprint stars Andy Newell and Torin Koos finished 15th and 18th respectively.
