Cross Country Alberta Sport Manager Job Posting

Cross Country Alberta is the provincial sport organization for cross country skiing in Alberta. Cross Country Alberta’s mission is to lead, develop and promote the sport of cross country skiing throughout Alberta. Cross Country Alberta is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors that represent the interests of all its member ski clubs.

You are a competent cross country ski leader with program development and delivery experience. You are motivated, energetic, and creative. As Sport Manager, you will be part of the leadership team to manage the core programs of Youth & Athlete Development, the Alberta Ski Team, Events, Leadership, and Club Development. You are well organized, fiscally aware, able to prioritize and have a positive outlook.

The position requires approximately 50% travel to deliver program and services to member clubs across the province. As such, residency is flexible if the applicant can demonstrate an ability to provide effective supervision and regular attendance at the association's Edmonton office.

Preferably, you have post secondary training in sport and recreation. Additional certifications in sport or cross country skiing are an asset. Your success is built on leading a diverse team of staff and volunteers with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving ability, and achieving measurable targets.
