Maine Races

By: Max Cobb

Dear Ski Friends:

With snow all over New England it looks like we are in for a great winter! The Maine Winter Sports Center is hosting a Banknorth Eastern Cup - the Nordic Heritage Sprints - and as it is our first ever NENSA event we wanted to make sure everyone got an invitation.

We will have junior and senior free style sprints under the lights on December 30th. There will be fireworks just before the finals to celebrate the event. On December 31st we will host a mass start classic 5 km & 10 km followed by a banquet and New Year's Eve Dance. With over $8,000 in prize money on the line there are bound to be some of the nation's top athletes coming to check their form before the Nationals at Rumford. The event is FIS, USSA, and NENSA sanctioned so it will to have good points. And all this is included in your two race entry fee of $40 if you enter soon at Maine Winter Sports Center

Here you will find the basic event info you need along with an electronic entry form and course maps, special discounted lodging packages, directions and plenty other info on the Maine Winter Sports Center. I have also attached the event program to this email.

For most of you, coming to this competition means a bit of a drive and that is why we chose the time between the holidays to host it. We hope you'll come and spend a few days with us - the skiing is free, the grooming is as good as it gets, and all of us are committed to making your visit to Aroostook County an enjoyable one.

If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me.

With best regards,

Max Cobb
