Milaine Theriault Named Sport New Brunswick Athlete of the Year

Milaine Theriault of St. Quentin, New Brunswick, was awarded the Female Athlete of Year Awardat the Annual Compass Sports Award Banquet held in Fredericton on November 16th. Theriault is a two time Olympian and a National Team member for the past 8 years.

"Milaine sort of completed a Grand Slam this year, competing in the Salt Lake City Olympics, becomming a New Brunswick Hall of Fame inductee, being chosen asAmbassador to the 2003 Canada Winter Games and completing the Slam with the Female Athlete of theYearAward" commented Dennis Arpin, executive director of the Cross Country New Brunswick who was also on hand to present the Male Coach of theYearAward.

Milaine is currently training in Silver Star, BC and could not attend the ceremony,but had her father Marcel Theriault receive the award on her behalf.


Marcel Theriault, Father of Milaine Theriault, accepted the Athlete of Year Award for his daughter along side Serge Dugas, Chairman of Cross Country New Brunswick and Dennis W. Arpin, Executive Director of Cross Country New Brunswick.
