NTDC Thunder Bay Hires New Coach

Al Maddox, and the National Team Development Centre Thunder Bay are pleased to announce the hiring of Jussi Piirainen as the head coach. Mr. Piirainen is a Level 5 International coach, "A" rated by the Finnish Ski Assocsiation. He is studying Exercise Physiology and Coaching and Testing at the University of Jyvaskyla working toward a masters degree. Currently Jussi is the head summer co ordinator of the largest cross-country ski centre in Finland. His own competition history includes orienteering, running and cross-country ski racing.

Al Maddox is very pleased with the extensive coaching search that has been conducted "With a successful 10 year history of athlete development and excellent coaching, the board and the ski community expect and deserve the best coaching available. Our recruitment efforts have paid off with Jussi taking on this role.". Jussi will join the team in Thunder Bay in August.
