Fortier, Freeman win in Silver Star

Justin Freeman (Team Rossignol) won today's 10km classic Continental Cup race in Silver Star, BC in a time of 29:30.6, 4.3 seconds ahead of second place finisher David Chamberlain. The top Canadian in the race was Donald Farley, rounding out the top three in a time of 29:28.5. Canadian's Robin McKeever and George Grey finished fourth and fifth.

The women's 5km classic race was won by Amanda Fortier of the Canadian National Team in a time of 16:23.4. The Canadians dominated the women's race, taking the top three spots. Sara Renner was second, 14 seconds behind Fortier, and Jaime Fortier was third. American Barb Jones was fourth and Canadian Tasha Betcherman fifth.

Racing continues tomorrow with a 15km skate race for both men and women.
